PART 1 - INSTALLATION

Overview - Manual Installation

Installation Workflow

Deploying an Ethereum node is a structured, five-step process. While the active configuration typically requires 1-2 hours of engineering time, the passive synchronization phase can take significantly longer.

Step

Phase

Description

01

Prerequisites

Hardware provisioning and OS dependency installation.

02

Configuration

Security hardening, user creation, and JWT secret generation.

03

Execution Client

Installing and configuring the EL (e.g., Geth, Nethermind).

04

Consensus Client

Installing and configuring the CL (e.g., Prysm, Lighthouse).

05

Startup & Verify

Enabling system services and verifying the sync status.

⏱️ Time Estimates

Please plan your deployment according to the following benchmarks.

🛠️ Active Setup Time: ~2 Hours

This includes server provisioning, firewall configuration, and software installation.

⏳ Passive Sync Time: 2 - 5 Days

Once the services are active, the node must download and verify the blockchain history.

  • Full Node (Snap Sync): ~2-3 Days

  • Archive Node: ~1-2 Weeks (depending on hardware IOPS)

⚠️ Warning: Do not shut down or reboot your server during the initial sync, as this may corrupt the database and force a restart from genesis.
